Not Trick-O-Moniis??, It's called "Trichomoniasis"
Trich Testing for Utah Cattle Producers:
Every bull 12 months of age and older must be trich tested using PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction) which can detect trichomoniasis DNA. Now we have to collect the samples, incubate them for 24 hours, freeze them, and ship them to the Utah Veterinary Diagnostic Lab where the PCR test will be performed. Results will be sent to our office when the tests are completed. We will distribute results to our producers as soon as we get them. Recent research validates the sensitivity of PCR and its superiority to other current testing methods for Trichomoniasis. Given the new changes here are some things that need to be addressed:

Recent research validates the sensitivity of PCR and its superiority to other current testing methods for Trichomoniasis. Given the new changes here are some things that need to be addressed:
- Plan ahead:
- Sample collection can be done Monday through Friday; however, the quickest turnaround time for results will be 5 business days (1 day for incubation, 1 day to freeze, 1 day to ship, and 2 days for testing and result submission).
- Samples collected on Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday will be shipped on Monday
- Price Break:
- The more samples we can collect within 1 -2 days will result in a price break on shipping costs for those producers who schedule Trich test farm calls together.
- Utah will allow pooling of samples for bulls remaining in the state; however, if the bulls enter into Idaho or Wyoming they need to be individually tested to meet those other states requirements.
- Non-Compliance Statement (taken from website mentioned below)
- All bulls have to be tested between Oct 1st 2014 through April 30th 2015, and an official blue colored ear tag placed in the right ear.
- After April 30th, owners of untested bulls may be fined $200.00 per head.
- Owners of untested bulls that have been exposed to female cattle may be fined up to $1000.00 per head regardless of the time of year.
